Robert J. O’Connor—Alderman-At-Large
Current Term 2009-2013
Alderman At-Large, Robert J. O’Connor, 66, was first elected to the City Council in 1985. He presently serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the City Council. He and his wife, Mary, who is a teacher at Bardwell School, have two sons, Tom, 32, who is married to Teresa Waldinger, and John, 27.
Alderman O’Connor is a graduate of East Aurora High School, the University of Illinois and the University of Notre Dame Law School. He is an attorney in Aurora and practices law in the area of estate planning, wills and trusts and real estate representation. He is on the State of Illinois Council on Aging, and is a board member of the Northeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging, The Aurora Police Foundation, and the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley. He is also a member of the Aurora Exchange Club and the Kane County Bar Association.
