Ward Eight—Richard B. (Rick) Mervine
Rick has been a resident of the 8th Ward since moving his family and business to Aurora from Michigan in 1987. During those 21 years, he has a long history of volunteer involvement with the city, parks, schools and his church. Since 1981, Rick has run a marketing and management consulting practice with a focus on strategic planning to help organizations grow and plan for that growth. While a resident of Aurora, he has been a strong advocate of community involvement that continues with the establishment of the 8th Ward committee and other opportunities to add value to our community. His wife, Phyllis, works at Smith School in Aurora helping teach reading skills and their daughter, Katie, is working to complete her master’s degree at Northern Illinois University.
