Ward One—Alderman Abby Schuler
Abby Schuler, born January 19, 1965 has lived in Ward 1 since the age of five. She attended O’Donnell Elementary School, Simmons Junior High and graduated from East Aurora High School in 1983. Alderman Schuler has a BS degree in Accounting from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She has over 16 years of accounting experience, including 5 years with KPMG Peat Marwick, 9 years with a research and development company, M-C Power, several years of consulting experience, and currently she and her husband are owners of a construction company, Schuler Builders.
Alderman Schuler has been married for 19 years to her husband Adam, who was born and raised in Ward 1. They have 2 children, Alex 12 and Morgan 10 They are members of St. Joseph’s Parish where her children attend school.
Alderman Schuler currently serves on the Finance Committee and serves as alternate for the Building, Grounds & Infrastructure Committee. She has served on the Planning and Development Committee. Alderman Schuler has served on the Finance Committee for the last five years.
