Ward Six—Alderman Michael B. Saville

Michael Saville was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, attended McCleery Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, graduated from West Aurora High School and earned his BA degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Mike is employed at Baum Property Services, Inc.

Mike officially became active in the community in 1980 when he was appointed to the Aurora Planning Commission and served until 1985. Mike was appointed to the Aurora City Council in 1985. In 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007 he successfully ran for reelection as Alderman of the Sixth Ward. He was a member of the DuKane Valley Executive Committee from 1986 to 1990 and served for one term as its Vice-Chairman. Mike is also a past member of the Aurora Downtown Redevelopment Corporation (Aurora Downtown). Mike is the originator of the Riverwalk Commission as well as its Chairman since its inception in 1988.

Alderman Saville has served on the Government Operations Committee in 1985, the Finance Committee from 1985 to 2003 and the Planning and Development Committee from 1985 to the present. Mike has been the Chairman of the Planning and Development Committee since 2003.
