Ward Ten—Alderman Lynda D. Elmore
Lynda Elmore was elected in April 2001 as Alderman of Ward 1. She became alderman of the new Ward 10 in the 2003 as a result of a census mandated redistricting. She has served on the Environmental and Water Quality Committee (EWQ) and served on the Planning & Development Committee. Currently, she serves on the Finance Committee and as an alternate to the Government Operations Committee. Lynda, born and raised in Virginia, relocated to Aurora in 1996. She has been married 30 years to her husband, Tom. Educated in Virginia public schools, Lynda is a graduate of Emory and Henry College (VA) and secured her CEBS from the Wharton School of Finance.
Lynda has over 25 years of management experience in the employee benefits field, including experience with Allied Signal, First Fidelity Bank and as an independent Benefits Consultant. She served her community for three terms as a Director for the Stonebridge Community Association which serves a 1000 home community and continues her voluntary role as editor of the community newsletter. She is a Board Member of the Family Counseling Service and the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also maintains a membership with the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce and the DuKane Valley Council.
