Ward Three—Alderman Stephanie A. Kifowit
Stephanie Kifowit is serving her second term as Alderman, she won re-election in April 2007 and her term will expire in April 2011.
Stephanie graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1989. In 1990, Stephanie joined the United States Marine Corps. She was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California and Okinawa, Japan. She was honorably discharged in 1994. Stephanie attended Northern Illinois University and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She is currently completing her Masters of Public Administration degree from Northern Illinois University. While attending N.I.U., she met her husband Steve. Steve is a life-long resident of Aurora.
Stephanie has been employed in the Financial Services industry for six years, three of which she was a registered Financial Advisor. She now devotes her time to her children and the position of Alderman.
Stephanie has lived in Aurora for twelve years and has two children, Sabrina (10 years old) and Samuel (5 years old) both attend school in East Aurora District 131. The family is complete with Steve’s daughter, Alexandria, who is a graduate of West Aurora High School.
Stephanie is a member of the American Legion, The United States Marine Corps League and the American Society of Public Administrators.
The Third Ward Committee meets once a month on the second Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Park Visitors Center to discuss ward issues. This meeting is open to all residents.
