Ward Three—Alderman Stephanie A. Kifowit
Stephanie Kifowit is serving her third term as Alderman; she won re-election in April 2007 and April 2011.
Alderman Kifowit graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1989. In 1990, Alderman Kifowit joined the United States Marine Corps. She was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California and Okinawa, Japan. She was honorably discharged. Alderman Kifowit attended Northern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science; and completed her Masters of Public Administration degree from Northern Illinois University. While attending NIU, she met her husband Steve, who is a life-long resident of Aurora.
Alderman Kifowit had been employed in the Financial Services industry for six years, three of which she was a registered Financial Advisor. She devotes her time to her children, the position of Alderman, and also a substitute teacher for East Aurora School District 131.
Alderman Kifowit has lived in Aurora for seventeen years and has two children, Sabrina (14 years old) and Samuel (9 years old) both attend school in District 131. The family is complete with Steve’s daughter, Alexandria, who is a graduate of West Aurora High School. Alderman Kifowit is also a proud step-grandparent to Alexandria’s sons William (age 5) and Jonathan (age 2).
Alderman Kifowit is a member of the American Legion, The United States Marine Corps League, Women Marine League and the American Society of Public Administrators.
The Third Ward Committee meets once a month on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:00 am at the Aldermen’s Office, 60 E Downer Place to discuss ward issues. This meeting is open to all residents.
