Municipal Code

Below you will find a link to the City of Aurora’s Municipal Code. In an effort to provide citizens with the most complete version of the code, Aurora has contracted with an agency that updates our municipal code to provide it to you online. Visitors can browse through title and section headings or search the codebook text. The code book is updated every time the official codebook is codified - two to three times a year.

Twice a month Aurora’s City Council passes new or updated ordinances. Please check the list of recently passed Municipal Code Ordinances below to find out whether any particular provision of the Code has been amended, superseded or repealed.

Passed by City Council, January 2010 - Present

• O10-02 - Ordinance Amending the Aurora Code of Ordinances, Chapter 42 Entitled, “Streets and Sidewalks” (01-12-10)
• O10-006 - An ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the City of Aurora Code of Ordinances entitled “Animals” (03-09-10)
• O10-10 - An ordinance amending Chapter 2 Article V, Division 2, Section 2-331 entitled “Definitions” of the City of Aurora Code of Ordinances (03-23-10)
• O10-017 - An ordinance approving replacement of the Aurora Building Code sections 12-1 through 12-39. Ordinance adopts the 2009 International Code Council series with local modifications per the recommendation of the City of Aurora Permanent Building and Fire Code Committee (05-11-10)
• O10-030 - An ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the Cty of Aurora Code of Ordinances entitled, “Alcoholic Liquor” (06-08-10)
