Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)

The City of Aurora received $3,083,568, through the federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA) of 2008 Neighborhood Stabilization Program to acquire and redevelop foreclosed properties, reducing incidents of abandonment and blight within our community.   Visit the NSP background page for additional background about the program.  The City maintains an Affirmative Marketing Policy related to the NSP program.

Steps to Purchase a NSP Home

  1. Complete a homebuyer counseling course (Contact Joseph Corporation, (630) 906-9400, or locate other agencies)
  2. Get pre-approved by a mortgage lender (You may select a lender of your choice.)
  3. Find an NSP home that suits you (Click on an address above for Realtor contact information)
  4. Complete and submit an NSP Application form to verify your eligibility to purchase an NSP home
  5. Submit a purchase contract to the Realtor

Rental Housing

The Community Housing Association of DuPage (CHAD) has partnered with the City by purchasing and rehabbing homes to be rented to households whose income does not exceed 50% of the Area Median. www.chadhousing.org.
