Historic Preservation Award Nomination Form

Each year the Mayor honors citizens’ efforts to preserve Aurora's older homes and buildings. Winners receive a plaque, and are recognized at the annual Mayor's Awards Ceremony in May. Photographs of the winning properties are exhibited at City Hall and on the City’s website.

To qualify, properties should be at least 50 years old, or designated as historic by the City of Aurora. The Historic Preservation Award honors excellence in restoration of Aurora’s historic properties, and is awarded to owners who make significant restorations while maintaining the historic character of their building. If you know of someone who deserves this honor, please contact the Aurora Preservation Commission at 630/844-3648 or download and fill out the nomination form and return it to the Aurora Preservation Commission at 44 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60507. If possible, include “before” pictures to assist us with our review. Please return by April 7, 2008.
