Block Grant Working Committee

The Block Grant Working Committee is composed of a member from each of the City’s 10 wards and three members at large. Members are appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Meetings are held at 2:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month at the Division of Neighborhood Redevelopment, 51 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora, Illinois, 60505. Block Grant Working Committee meetings are open to the public.

The committee reviews and recommends funding projects eligible for Community Development Block Grant funds. The federal Block Grant program is intended to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons.
