Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is composed of the Mayor and thirteen additional members appointed by the mayor and approved by the City Council. The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Planning Commission meetings are open to the public.

The Planning Commission hears and reports findings and recommendations to the mayor and city council on all applications for zoning amendments and special use permits. The Planning Commission considers applications for rezoning and conducts public hearings for all such applications. The Planning Commission also initiates, directs and reviews studies of the provisions of the zoning ordinance and makes reports of its recommendations to the mayor and city council at least once a year.
