Annual Ceremony Honoring Law Enforcement
The annual Ceremony Honoring Law Enforcement will be on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m., at the Mooseheart Church of God on Route 31 in Batavia. The non-denominational service is sponsored by the Kane County Chiefs of Police and will feature a candle lighting vigil to honor Kane County Officers who have been killed in the line of duty as well as formations by area police department honor guards and pipe and drum units.
This year’s keynote speaker is Linda Hartoonian Almas, a former police officer who now is the Treasurer of Aftermath: Surviving Psychopathy; a non-profit organization that assists victims of abuse.
