Emergency Management Agency Seeking Volunteers

The City of Aurora’s Emergency Management Agency is looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of duties in the event of an emergency and also during City events.

Volunteers participate in severe weather monitoring, Emergency Operations Center support, communications, emergency preparedness education, neighborhood patrol, traffic control, emergency scene lighting, and other duties.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old at the time of application, possess a valid Illinois driver’s license, have a safe and properly operating vehicle for transportation along with proof of vehicle insurance; and have a clean criminal record. Applicants must go through a background check and interview, and serve a one year probation.
