Court Detention Technician I

The City of Aurora is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Court Detention Technician I in the Police Department.

Duties include processing prisoners, assisting with court and building security, monitoring security for prisoners in the jail and at bond calls, preparing prisoners for transfers to other correctional facilities, providing support for sworn personnel and assisting in related or assigned duties as necessary. Communicates with and maintains positive working relationship with all other bureaus and divisions within the Police Department including testifying in court proceedings.

Position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. Requires the ability to work on a continuous shift basis. Experience in a correctional environment and Spanish bilingual highly desirable.

Must successfully pass written exam, polygraph, and background investigation. Mandatory written exam will be scheduled at time of application. Starting wage is $23.49/hr. Excellent benefit package includes health, dental, and life.
