Monthly Complaint Summary

During the month of February 2012 the following complaints against APD employees (initiated both by citizens and by Department supervisors) were investigated and completed, with the following dispositions:

Disposition definitions for performance complaints are as follows:

Unfounded:
The allegation is false or not factual.
Exonerated:
the incident occurred, but was lawful and proper.
Not Sustained:
Insufficient evidence exists to either prove or disprove the allegation.
Sustained:
The allegation is supported by sufficient evidence to justify a reasonable conclusion of guilt.
Policy Failure:
The investigation revealed that the alleged acts did occur; however, the officer was acting in accordance with established departmental policy.
In Compliance:
The investigation revealed that the policies and procedures of the Department were followed (to be used with Administrative Inquiries only)
