Dear Art Educator, the Aurora Public Art Commission Invites your students to participate in Winter Garden of Youth Art, 2009. Winter Garden of Youth Art is an annual exhibit of art by Aurora students from K-12. 2009 marks the twelfth year of this lively exhibit and we look forward to a wonderful show.
Below is an information packet. Please download and return the entry form by November 13, 2009 to receive your exhibition materials. If you have any questions please call Rena Church at (630) 906-0654 during business hours.

Exhibitor Information
Winter Garden of Youth Art is an annual exhibit of works of art by Aurora students from K-12. The exhibit is held in the Aurora Public Art Commission’s 3rd floor gallery at 20 E. Downer Place.
Entry
Each school may enter 5 pieces of student work chosen by art teachers or other faculty members. Only students attending Aurora schools may participate.
Deadline for Entries
Entry form (page 4) must be filled out and returned by Friday, November 13, 2009. The form may be emailed, faxed to the Aurora Public Art Commission at (630) 906-6892, or mailed to the Aurora Public Art Commission, 44 E. Downer Pl. Aurora, IL, 60507.
Note: pages five and six do not have to be sent back with the initial response. They may be delivered in hard copy with the art works.
After November 13 APAC will send you self-adhesive hooks for hanging 2D works. 2D works MUST have hooks attached in order to be accepted into the exhibit (see information packet for placement of hooks).
2D Measurements
18" X 24" or less. Please use foam core backings for all 2D pieces if possible. Matte board may be used to construct the frame. Remember, the heavier the piece, the more likely it is to come apart or to tear through the hooks and fall.
3D Measurements
2ft X 6ft or less.
Drop Off Times
Work may be dropped off from Wednesday, December 2, through Friday, December 4, 2009, between 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Due to staff cuts there will be no weekend delivery times for dropping off artwork. Work Must be brought to the Aurora Public Art Commission at 20 E. Downer Place. Required: Please bring your “List of Artists” form and make sure to attach the artist I.D. forms to each work of art. Art will not be accepted after Friday, December 4.
Opening Reception
Friday, December 11, 2009, from 5 -7 pm. Refreshments will be served.
Show Ends
Exhibit ends on Friday, January 8, 2010. Work must be picked up between Wednesday, January 13 and Friday, January 15, between 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Note: Due to staff cuts there will be no weekend pickup times for art work. APAC is not responsible for artwork that is not picked up during this time.
