The hybrid elm is an extremely fast growing tree, resistant to disease and insect attack. Easily transplanted, quick to establish and regain rapid growth. Large, lustrous, dark green foliage in summer; yellow fall color. Adaptable to most soil types unless excessively wet. Use for home and commercial landscapes or as street tree. This rapid-growing tree needs regular pruning to maintain its vase form.
Shape: Broad to upright vase shaped crown
Height: 60-90 feet
Spread: 40-50 feet
Every tree species faces risks, and in comparison to other genera, elms can be expected to be tough and reliable urban performers.
Do not prune elm trees between mid-April and mid-October.
