Existing Home Owners

Too bad owning a house doesn't come with a manual or a portion of your mortgage set aside for all the needed repairs. Don't despair! The City of Aurora has a history of successfully helping connect home owners in need with the appropriate programs which are able to best help them.

Safety First

The 2013 Safety First Program is funded in partnership with the City of Aurora Community Development Block Grant, Joseph Corporation administers this program which addresses safety issues within the city limits of Aurora. Eligible repairs include mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; roof and porch repairs or replacements. The thing to remember is eligibility requires that the repair has anything to do with the safety of your home.

Home Improvement Incentive Program (HIIP)

HIIP provides a rebate incentive for home repairs for lower income homeowners in Aurora, for 90% of costs (up to $2,000 per applicant), to improve the exterior of their home that is used as a primary residence. Only improvements that are visible from the street and improve the overall quality of the neighborhood are eligible for reimbursement.
