Illinois Assist Grant Program
Sponsored by the City of Aurora and designed to be part of the mortgage
application process, Illinois Assist is a grant given at closing as a
percentage of the mortgage loan amount. The assistance may be used for
down payment or closing costs and prepaids. Assistance is in the form of
a non-repayable grant. When the first mortgage is reserved, the
assistance is automatically reserved. When the loan is closed, there are
not second mortgages, second notes, deed restrictions or liens. For
more details, contact a participating lender. Find a participating lender.
