Recreational vehicles such as campers, boats, and trailers may be parked in residential neighborhoods but are subject to certain restrictions. Only one such vehicle or trailer may be parker per residential property.
Location
Recreational vehicles may not be parked in front yards or between the house and the street, except when loading, unloading, cleaning and servicing. All recreational vehicles, including boats, campers and pull-along trailers must be parked on a concrete or asphalt surface. They may be parked in interior side and rear yards but must be at least three feet from side lot lines and five feet from rear lot lines.
Size
No recreational vehicle shall exceed 25 feet in length, 8 feet in width or 11 feet in height. Trailers may be single axle only.
Screening
Screening is required for all vehicles, boats, campers and trailers that are stored or parked in the open. They may be parked in a completely enclosed garage or structure as an alternative to the screening requirement and size limitation.
City fines for non-compliant RVs range from $50 to $200 per day.
