The Aurora Police Department is pleased to offer the opportunity for citizens to ride with an Aurora Police Officer.
Interested citizens can start the process by visiting the Aurora Police Department at 1200 E. Indian Trail Rd. and speaking to the front desk officer or employee. You will be able to fill out the application and waiver form. A photo ID is required, and a background check will be completed prior to approval.
After the application and waiver is submitted, the applicant will be contacted by police personnel – usually within 48 hours. If approved, the date and time of the ride will be worked out at this time.
Photographs, video recording, and posting information to social media are prohibited during the ride along. Proper attire during the ride along is business casual – no jeans, t-shirts, or tennis shoes.
