Aurora Police Cadets work throughout the department while gaining experience in a number of different units. Their duties include assisting officers in Patrol, Investigations, Evidence, and in Booking. They assist with traffic control and interact with the community during various City of Aurora events. They conduct Police Department tours and help file and maintain records. More importantly, Police Cadets receive entry level training in a number of police related skill sets in order to better qualify them for their future careers as police officers. Police cadets work full time when not in school, and part time while attending school. They are required to attend college full time and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Community college tuition is reimbursed.
