The Aurora Police Chaplain Team consists of 12 chaplains from the Aurora religious community. The chaplains volunteer their time to serve as a support team to the officers and civilians of the Aurora Police Department as well as the citizens of Aurora. Our chaplains are on call 24/7 to assist the officers and civilians in times of crisis. The team serves as a ministry of presence that shows support to those going through a critical incident or sudden death regardless of religious background. The chaplain’s also ride along with officers on patrol, offer prayers at special events, offer counseling for department members in response to personal or professional issues, and many other miscellaneous functions. The cornerstone of our team is Father Jerome Leake from St. Joseph’s Parrish in Aurora. Father Leake has selflessly served the department and the City of Aurora since 1975.
