Mayor Richard C. Irvin, in collaboration with Aurora’s MLK Planning Committee, honors the life of Dr. Martin Luther King by recognizing Aurora youth who are carrying on his dedication to selfless service.
The annual Service Above Self Awards are presented to middle school, high school and college students during Aurora’s Annual MLK Ceremony.
Nominations are open to students who:
Dedicate a significant amount of time serving others
Go above and beyond to make our community better
Serve as role models to their peers
Selected students will be presented the award at the citywide MLK Ceremony on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at East Aurora High School.
