Agency Responsibilities

With all city departments and valued partners, the agency:

  • Analyzes threats and hazards to understand what is necessary to prepare the city
  • Develops plans and procedures for emergency response, mitigation strategy, community recovery, continuity of government, and other documents to support resiliency in Aurora
  • Develop, participate, and provide emergency and disaster training and exercise opportunities
  • Establish and maintain redundant technology and communication systems
  • Coordinates the activities of the city during response and recovery operations
