With all city departments and valued partners, the agency:
- Analyzes threats and hazards to understand what is necessary to prepare the city
- Develops plans and procedures for emergency response, mitigation strategy, community recovery, continuity of government, and other documents to support resiliency in Aurora
- Develop, participate, and provide emergency and disaster training and exercise opportunities
- Establish and maintain redundant technology and communication systems
- Coordinates the activities of the city during response and recovery operations
