Virtual Youth Programming

Summer Art - Week 8

Aurora Public Art will host regular virtual youth programming for students who are sheltering in place amid COVID-19 cancellations and closures. All sessions are free and open to the public. Programming will begin Monday, June 8.

Programming will include sessions across many artistic media. Drawing, Painting, Music, Dance, Drama, and Culinary Arts are among the many offerings. Aurora Public Art will partner with other organizations to produce some of the content. For example, a weekly draw-along session will feature animals from Phillips Park Zoo. Other partnerships include poetry workshops with Aurora’s Poet Laureate and Deputy Laureates. Chefs from area restaurants will provide cooking demonstrations.

Programs will be broadcast on Facebook Live. Sessions will also be available on Aurora Public Art’s YouTube page. Students who are unable to access these sites on school devices may join via Zoom. Please send an email to [email protected] to get access codes for Zoom sessions. Otherwise, tune in to Aurora Public Art’s Facebook or YouTube pages!
