The Aurora African American Heritage Advisory Board presents a unique cultural and preparatory experience for African-American high school students in Aurora.
Reflecting the collegiate pageant experience germane to many HBCUs and other universities, the Mr. & Miss Black Aurora Pageant (MMBA) provides a platform to highlight emerging leaders as they compete for the premier titles.
MMBA contestants will improve their community leadership, public speaking, and personal presentation skills while strengthening their confidence, poise, and talents.
Each MMBA contestant will compete in three categories: Fashion & Poise; Talent Expression; and Verbal Skills
To participate, students must be:
- a resident of Aurora
- a current high school freshman, sophomore, or junior
- of African-American heritage or descent
- apply by the deadline of January 10, 2024.

Schedule:
- A public announcement ceremony will be held in February 2024, where final contestants will be unveiled.
- The 2024 MMBA Pageant will be held during Juneteenth Week 2024.
