Neighborhood Policing Bureau Commander Rick Robertson

Commander Rick Robertson oversees the Aurora Police Department’s Bureau of Neighborhood Policing. Robertson began his career with the Aurora Police in September 1993, has worked in Patrol, Community Oriented Policing, GAVEL (Gang Violence Investigations), Training, and Special Operations (Gangs and Vice). He has been a member of the Special Response (SWAT) Team since December 1995. Robertson has served on the Aurora Police Honor Guard and coordinated the implementation of the Department’s Canine Unit in 2014.

Robertson was promoted to Sergeant in 2002, Lieutenant in 2010 and Commander in 2020.

Robertson is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy class #254. He also graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State in Local Government program.
