AURORA, IL - The City of Aurora is seeking community members to serve on the newly formed Aurora Education Commission.
As one of Aurora’s official boards, the Aurora Education Commission will focus on educational initiatives that benefit Aurora’s youth and the overall community while serving in an advisory capacity to the City’s leadership.
“We have an impressively comprehensive educational community in Aurora,” said Mayor Irvin. “From early childhood through college and into the workforce, the Aurora Education Commission will bring key stakeholders to the table as we continue to build Aurora together.”
The Aurora Education Commission is comprised of representatives from all areas of the educational sector and additional members from the community.
The following seats are currently open:
- An early childhood program provider
- Area business owners
- General at-large positions open to any resident
