[ARCHIVED] Discounted Rain Barrels Offered to Aurora Residents

The City of Aurora and the Conservation Foundation are collaborating again this year to provide discounted rain barrels to Aurora residents.

An effective way to conserve water during the summer and fall months, rain barrels collect fresh water from rooftop gutter systems for use on lawns. In addition, rain barrels help to reduce runoff pollutants, improve hydration to plants and gardens with natural water and could help to lower water bills with consistent usage.

55-gallon rain barrels are available in four colors – black, blue, gray or terra cotta – for the discounted price of $60 plus tax and can be picked up during the annual Aurora Greenfest on Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Prisco Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave.

For an additional $5 fee, rain barrels can be delivered directly to the purchaser's home in 5-7 business days.

To place an order, visit or call 630.428.4500.

Rain barrel accessories, composters and plant hangers are also available for discounted prices. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Conservation Foundation.
