Mayor Richard C. Irvin was honored to join Sam Cervantes for the Official Dedication of his #hopewingsaurora mural in downtown Aurora on Tuesday, October 9.

During the ceremony, Mayor Irvin presented Sam, who is his friend since childhood, a Mayoral Commendation and immediately following at the City Council meeting, the mayor surprised Sam by proclaiming his birthday - February 13 - as Sam Cervantes Day in the City of Aurora.

The #hopewingsaurora mural is located at La France Bakery, 118 E. Galena Blvd. Sam has left his mark - literally and figuratively - all over town for decades. We look forward to seeing what he does next!#ThereIsSomethingHappeningHere
