Community organizations and neighborhood groups planning public community events for 2019 are invited to apply for Neighborhood Festival Funding Grants from the City of Aurora.
Grants are available to groups hosting public events that acquaint residents with each other while educating participants about the Aurora community. Funds must be used for support services at the events, such as rental of equipment, rental of tables or chairs, general liability insurance, security or emergency personnel, and similar needs.
Grants are available for up to $1,500.
Events that have received funding in the past include Roots Aurora, the LaSalle Street Car Show, Juneteenth, and Dia De Los Muertos.
Grant applications are available online at www.aurora-il.org/festivalfunding or in person at the City of Aurora Community Services Division, 51 E. Galena Blvd.
The deadline to submit applications is Dec. 12, 2018 for events planned for Jan. 1 through June 30, 2019; and March 1, 2019, for events running from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2019.
