Phillips Park Zoo invites Aurora residents to take free photos with the Easter Bunny during the popular annual Easter Weekend event on Saturday, April 20from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors must bring their own camera. Free and open to the public, the event will be held at the Phillips Park Stover Visitors Center, 1000 Ray Moses Drive. Easter is Sunday, April 21.
There are many community events prior to Easter Weekend, including:
- Friday, April 12: Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns will host the annual 7th Ward Easter Egg Hunt from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Forest Ridge Community Center. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be games and an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. Contact Alderman Hart-Burns for participation details at 630.898.2943.
- Saturday, April 13: Aurora Downtown hosts the third annual Egg Hunt on the Island from 1 to 4 p.m. The free, all-ages egg and fun hunt invites families to explore downtown Aurora. - Sunday, April 14: The Fox Valley Park District will host the Underwater Egg Hunt from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Vaughan Athletic Center, 2121 W. Indian Trail. Jump in and retrieve eggs from the pools. Ages 3-4 will be in the toddler splash area, and older participants will retrieve weighted eggs in the leisure pool! - Thursday, April 18: The Fox Valley Park District will host the Glow-In-The-Dark Egg Hunt from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Blackberry Farm, 100 Barnes Road. Grab your flashlight and get ready to party at Blackberry Farm! Enjoy hayrides, dancing, games and a Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt with prizes.
