[ARCHIVED] Winter Weather Advisory Issued for the Weekend

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, January 10 to 3 a.m. Sunday, January 12.

A potent winter storm could bring a wintry mix of heavy rain, sleet, ice, snow and high winds, beginning later tonight and continuing throughout most of the weekend. City officials will closely monitor conditions and respond accordingly with the appropriate plan of action and deployment of resources.

Travel could be significantly impacted across the region. Motorists are advised to use extra caution during the storm watch period.

Aurora residents are encouraged to monitor weather conditions via local news and the City of Aurora’s social media, website and emergency notification channels.
