The City of Aurora and the surrounding area remains under a Winter Storm Watch until 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 12.
Light freezing rain has been the consistent weather activity Saturday morning. The forecast calls for the rain to transition to snow throughout the day and evening. Snow accumulation can range up to 4 inches.
The full Aurora Snow Team will be deployed to cover all 36 routes at 3 p.m., prior to the expected snowfall. The team will salt primary roadways first and then residential streets. Snow clearing operations will continue on cycle dependent upon snow activity.

Roadways are expected to very slick throughout the weekend. Please remember to drive safely and leave plenty of extra room between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
The Aurora Police Department and city officials will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary.
