Endiro Coffee in downtown Aurora is one of five businesses in the state to be inducted this year into the ’Illinois Made’ program sponsored by the Illinois Office of Tourism.
The businesses in the Illinois Made program provide visitors and locals with authentic Illinois experiences and contribute to making the state an incredible destination. To be considered for the Illinois Made program, businesses must embody the personal spirit of Illinois, demonstrating through their work what makes our state so unique.
Endiro Coffee is a complete tree-to-cup operation, beginning with coffee grown in Uganda. The coffee is exported and then brought to Illinois, where Endiro roasts and brews it in its downtown Aurora coffee shop. Their profits are dedicated to partnerships with local charities focused on ending child vulnerability in the communities of Uganda.
Mayor Irvin joined the owners of Endiro – Cody Lorance, Gloria Katusiime and Erin Kawaye – along with general manager Nikki O’Hara, assistant manager Harper Kaiser and a number of local community supporters for the special presentation of the Illinois Made plaque presented by Cort Carlson and Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau on behalf of the Illinois Office of Tourism.
The other businesses joining the 2020 program are Great American Popcorn Co. in Galena, Locavore Farm in Grant Park, Riggs Beer Company in Urbana and Swoon Living in Chicago.
