[ARCHIVED] Curfew Hours, Travel Restrictions Adjusted

Curfew Weekend Extension

The City of Aurora continues to collaborate with area public safety officials to monitor and evaluate pending demonstrations throughout the weekend in the region.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment for Aurora residents and businesses, modified overnight curfew hours will continue into the weekend.

Curfew hours have been adjusted to now begin at 10 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. The modified hours will be in place overnight on Thursday, June 4, Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, concluding on the morning of Sunday, June 7.

Residents are asked to remain at home and to only travel for employment during the curfew hours. If necessary, any further decisions will be announced on Sunday.

While access to Aurora from Interstate 88 will no longer be restricted, the following travel notices remain:

• Entrance into the downtown area is prohibited during the curfew without residential or employment identification.

• Strict travel restrictions are in place at Fox Valley Mall. Residents are asked to avoid the area during curfew hours.
