[ARCHIVED] Aurora Snow Team Update | December 29

Aurora Snow Team Update 1229 845

AURORA SNOW TEAM UPDATE | 12/29 | 8:30 P.M.

The first major snow event of the season brought just about 5 inches of snow to Aurora … and the inclement weather is not done. Freezing rain is expected during the overnight hours.

The full Aurora Snow Team was dispatched to cover all 36 routes in the mid-afternoon, with a specific focus on the primary roadways.  Throughout this evening:

  • Primary roadways are being plowed curb to curb by the Snow Team.

  • Contracts are being brought in to plow residential areas curb to curb. Please move vehicles off roadways into driveways and garages.

  • Because of the freezing rain, additional time may be needed on the roadways so the ice doesn’t continue to build up. Please be patient.

  • USE CAUTION: Roadways are slippery. Do not travel if it is not necessary.
