Aurora was recently named one of the 'Best Cities to Start a Family' in America.

A study conducted by LendEDU, an independent marketplace for financing, evaluated the most populous cities in America based on where young couples would want to start a family. Aurora ranked 12 out of 300 cities across the nation.

"Young couples often imagine their kids growing up in the perfect house in the perfect city," said LendEDU researchers. "Staying put in one house can provide many benefits to a young family: Your kids are given a consistent education, they can make life-long friends who all live in the same area, and parents can find peace in knowing their kids are comfortable and safe. Ultimately, millennials looking to start a family must find all of these things at a reasonable price."

In order to identify the top 300 cities for starting a family, LendEDU evaluated data for the 350 most populated cities in the United States. The 350 cities were evaluated across four parameters: Education Quality; Cost of First Home Purchase;  Safety; and Percentage of Young Families in the population.

"For my wife and I, Aurora is not just where we were raised, it's also where we want to raise our son," said Kyle Welton, a millennial husband, father and business professional. "Like many others in our age category, we had to make a critical choice on where to start our family and for us there was no other choice. Aurora is an incredible community with limitless potential. We look forward to being a part of its continued success."

Aurora was also recently named one of the "Best Places to Buy a Home" by Chicago Magazine.
