The City of Aurora is
teaming up with the Fox Valley Garden Club to offer a sneak peek of the 2017
Aurora Farmers Market during the Garden Club’s plant sale this Saturday.
The Farmers Market
Preview and Plant Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 20, at the Aurora
Transportation Center, 233 N. Broadway.
The event will introduce
visitors to some of the market’s vendors for the season and provide the
opportunity to purchase some of the early spring produce. They will also
learn about the new additions, changes and upcoming special events planned for
the 2017 season at Illinois’ oldest farmers market.
At the same time, the
Fox Valley Garden Club’s annual Plant Sale will offer an endless variety of
annuals, perennials, vegetable plants and much more.
The event also includes
Tomato Day in Aurora. The first 1,000 children will receive a free cherry
tomato plant to take home and nurture, teaching them the many benefits of
gardening.
