Aurora should forbid all open outdoor burning, including fire pits, the smoke from any outdoor burning decreases the quality of life in Aurora. It is absolutely impossible to enforce the current laws on fire pits. People burn garbage and yard waste and there is no way to tell from which yard the smell is coming from. Please note that I am not talking about cooking out on a barbeque, that does not cause the heavy wood and garbage smoke that lingers and smolders like fire pits do. Often I cannot open my windows to bring in fresh air. It is too smoky. I can call the police about loud music and people can be warned or ticketed. That is noise pollution but it can be stopped right away. Fill my house with noise or music – the city forbids it. Fill my house with wood and garbage smoke – the city allows it! What’s wrong with those priorities? I do not understand why the right to pollute the air, decreasing the quality of life in Aurora, supersedes the right to breathe clean air.

Create a program where people can drop off full Sharps containers at a centrally located municipality building within the city, whether that be a government building like city hall, fire dept, police station, etc. even if they only hold collection days once or twice a month, this would give people who are diabetics or use other injection based medications.
