If I opt-out of the program can I return at a later date?
Yes. You can return to the city's program at any time. However, if you opt-out and do not choose an alternative supplier within 60 days, you will be required to remain with ComEd for 12 months. You will not be able to return to the city's program during that time.

Show All Answers
1.
What does "opt out" mean?
"Opt out" means that you can decide not to participate in the program at any time during the term of the agreement without incurring a penalty.
2.
What happens if I do not send in the opt-out form?
If you do not return the opt-out form by the due date, you will be included in the City of Aurora's electricity aggregation program and will begin receiving competitively priced electricity from Homefield Energy.
3.
Can I opt out over the phone?
Yes. If you want to opt out over the phone you can call Homefield Energy at 866-694-1262 from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Central Time (CT).
4.
Can I leave the program at a later date?
Yes. You may opt out of the program at any time. Call 866-694-1262.
5.
I've received other offers from electric suppliers. Why should I choose the City of Aurora's aggregation program?
Homefield Energy's aggregation program is the only program endorsed by the City of Aurora.
6.
What are my energy supply choices if I decide to opt out?
You will be placed with ComEd or you can shop for an alternative electricity supplier.
7.
If I would like to stay with ComEd for the 2nd phase, do I need to opt out of the city's electricity aggregation program again?
Yes. This is true if you opted out of the 1st phase and elected to have ComEd as my supplier. Each time the city's supply contract expires under its electricity aggregation program and a new contract is executed, another opt-out election is necessary.
8.
I am currently receiving power from an alternative electricity supplier. Do I need to participate in the opt-out process?
No. If you do not have the city's aggregation program or ComEd as your supplier, you are automatically opted out of the program and will not be switched away from your current supplier.
9.
If I opt-out of the program can I return at a later date?
Yes. You can return to the city's program at any time. However, if you opt-out and do not choose an alternative supplier within 60 days, you will be required to remain with ComEd for 12 months. You will not be able to return to the city's program during that time.
10.
If I am receiving power from an alternative electricity supplier and I want to opt-in to the program, what should I do?
You can opt-in by phone at 866-694-1262. A Homefield Energy representative will be happy to help you. Keep in mind that termination penalties may apply when breaking supplier contracts early. Carefully read the terms and conditions statement provided by your current supplier before making a decision.
11.
I received a letter from ComEd stating that they received notice that my "electricity supplier of choice is being changed to Homefield Energy." Why did I receive this letter?
Let's say you are currently participating in the city's electricity aggregation program and receiving my electric supply from first energy solutions. You would like to continue the program and did not opt out of the next round program, and you expect to receive your electricity supply from Homefield Energy, and then you received this letter.
ComEd sent you the letter simply to make sure that you understand that your electricity supplier is being switched from First Energy Solutions to Homefield Energy. You will still be participating in the city's electricity aggregation program. You need not be concerned about the letter.
