What Is aggregation?
Under aggregation, local officials bring citizens together to gain group buying power for the purchase of competitively priced electricity from an alternative retail electric supplier certified by the Illinois Commerce Commission.

How is the City of Aurora able to choose a certified electric generation supplier on my behalf?
In March 2012, the City of Aurora residents voted to allow the City of Aurora to contract for an electricity generation supplier on their behalf.

What is my rate with the aggregation program?
Under the aggregation program, you will receive a fixed rate of 8.086 cents per kilowatt-hour (KWH) for generation.

How will I know if I can save money under the City of Aurora electricity aggregation program?

What do I need to do if I want to be included in this aggregation program?
You do not need to do anything to receive the discounted generation pricing under this program.
6.
If I join the City of Aurora electricity aggregation program, who will deliver my power, read my meter and respond to emergencies, such as power outages?
ComEd will be responsible for the delivery of power to your home or business. Since ComEd still owns the wires and poles that deliver power to you, ComEd will continue to read your meter and restore power after an outage.
7.
Is your price fixed or does it vary?
In this program, the rate you will receive is fixed, so your price will not change throughout the term of the agreement.
8.
If I join the aggregation, can I stay on budget billing?
Yes. You will remain on budget billing with the ComEd portion of your bill.
9.
Can I still have my payment automatically deducted from my checking account as I do now?
Yes. How you pay your electric bill will not change.
