Alderman Richard B. (Rick) Mervine

Rick Mervine has been a resident of the 8th Ward since moving his family and business to Aurora from Michigan in 1987. During those 23 years, he has a long history of volunteer involvement with the city, its parks, schools and his church. Since 1981, Alderman Mervine has run a marketing and management consulting practice with a focus on strategic planning to help small business and organizations grow and plan for that growth. While a resident of Aurora, he has been a strong advocate of community involvement that continues with the establishment of the 8th Ward committee and other opportunities to add value to our community. His wife, Phyllis, works at Smith School in Aurora helping teach reading skills. Their grown daughter, Katie, recently completed her master’s degree at Northern Illinois University.

Alderman Mervine currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Aurora City Council and is an alternate for the Government Operations Committee.
