Ward One—Kristina "Tina" Bohman

Alderman Tina Bohman

Mayor Tom Weisner has selected lifelong resident Kristina “Tina” Bohman to fill the vacant 1st Ward seat on the City Council. Bohman will serve until the voters of the 1st Ward choose a new Alderman in the 2015 General Municipal Election.

Bohman has devoted two decades to the North East Neighbors group, where she has helped to implement multiple First Ward programs ranging from a neighborhood patrol group to sewer infrastructure upgrades. Bohman is also a founding member and former chair of the First Ward Committee, where she has worked to help engage residents, construct the ward budget, and prioritize improvements.
Previously, Bohman worked to promote Aurora Police programs, such as “National Night Out”, in Aurora neighborhoods, and is a founding member and past president of the Citizens Police Academy. She is also a current member of the Fox Valley Park District Foundation Board, and a past Fox Valley Park District Trustee.

“Tina has a track record as someone who listens, communicates, and truly works with residents to make Aurora a better place to live,” Mayor Weisner said. “Her proven commitment and her long and varied experience will allow her to hit the ground running in this interim appointment.” “I’m excited to have this opportunity. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Bohman said. “I love Aurora and I look forward to working with residents and the ward committee to continue to move forward on issues from economic growth along the Farnsworth corridor to working with the city and other entities on flooding prevention to maintaining and expanding the ward committee structure to ensure all the First Ward’s voices are heard.”
