Lieutenant Bryan Handell oversees the Aurora Police Department’s Central Services Division, which includes the department’s Records Division, Booking/Jail Division, and Critical Incident Intelligence Center. Handell started his career with the Aurora Police Department in September of 2004. He has worked in Patrol, Field Training, Investigations, and Traffic, and he is a member of the Pipes and Drums of the Aurora Police.

Handell was promoted to Sergeant in 2016 and Lieutenant in 2021. He is a 2000 graduate of Marmion Academy in Aurora and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004.
