Hazardous Materials in Your Home

There are hazardous materials located throughout your home and garage. It is important to ensure that you keep cleaning supplies and chemicals used for maintenance out of the reach of children. Even laundry detergent is poison if swallowed. Store all chemicals as directed and do not mix chemicals that could react. Read all directions completely prior to using the product.

Learn about where you live and what hazardous materials hazards are nearby. If you live near an industrial area, highway, railroad or airport there will be hazardous materials that are transported near you. It is important that you have a plan and go-kit should it become necessary to evacuate. To dispose of hazardous materials, please follow this link to the City of Aurora web-page on recycling.
