Winter Lights

The merriest and cheeriest of Seasons starts with Winter Lights!

When: Friday, November 18, 2016
Parade begins at 6:30 p.m.
Pop-up shops will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Downtown Aurora, at Downer Place and Stolp Avenue

You won’t want to miss this year’s Winter Lights

As the City of Aurora’s official kick-off to the holiday season, this family-oriented event will be filled with merry-making moments and a sleigh full of FREE fun for the entire family!

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with the Holiday Parade ushering in the jolly old elf himself, Santa, along with Mrs. Claus. It's followed by a grand fireworks display along the banks of the Fox River.

Visit the holiday Pop-up Shops on Stolp Avenue from 5 to 9 p.m. for music, art, gifts and good things to eat!

The twinkling lit streets will be filled with costumed characters, festive photo-ops, live reindeer and much more! The official City of Aurora Holiday Tree, located in front of Grand Army of the Republic Museum at 23 East Downer Place, will be illuminated by Mayor O’Connor, and Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. Jack Frost along with an award presentation for the winners of the Downtown Window Decorating Contest. After the fireworks, follow Santa and Mrs. Claus to the GAR Museum where he will be listening to Christmas wishes, plus, Mrs. Claus has a special treat for those who have been good all year. Come and make Winter Lights, a memory-filled family tradition!
