Mandatory Housing Class

City and police officials have announced the next round of mandatory crime-free housing classes which owners, landlords, and agents of rental and non-owner occupied residential buildings in Aurora must enroll.

2015 English Classes will be held Sept 12, Oct 17, Nov 14, Dec 5. 

2015 Spanish classes will be conducted Sept 26, Dec 19. 

All of the sessions will be held in the community room of the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CERT Class starts

The classes consist of 26 total hours of training and are being held on various days and times to better meet the schedules of people who may be interested in participating. Students learn fire suppression including fire extinguisher training, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue operations, pre- and post-storm CERT operations, and general disaster preparedness.

Deadline for 50/50 tree ordering

The city contracts the planting of parkway trees twice a year.

Spring planting will take place in March and April. Tree orders from the above mentioned selections must be placed no later than March 13, 2015.

Fall planting will take place in October and November. Tree orders must be placed no later than September 25, 2015. Tree types and pricing to be determined at a later date and will be posted on city's website.

Due to budgetary constraints, tree supplies are limited. Residents are encouraged to apply early.
